Here in Arugam Bay, you can expect friendly faces, a community spirit, a fantastic, world-renowned beach and great waves ­ as well as the joy and satisfaction of treading the road less travelled.

At Rocco's hotel we make sure we give you space to enjoy the unique spirit of the area. Arugam Bay is blissfully undeveloped ­ and as such remains a favourite among independent travellers. Each day dawns with a glittering sunrise over the sea ­ and with no light pollution we also have the most beautiful starry nights. This really is what they mean by splendid isolation!

Rocco's hotel is a comfortable, clean and welcoming home-from-home that won't leave a hole in your wallet. We have just 12 rooms on our one-acre site, so there's plenty of space for everyone, with a restaurant area offering all-day breakfast, snacks, meals and drinks ­ or where you can simply kick back and relax, refreshing lime soda in hand, on Rocco's famous swing seats, gazing out to A-Bay's main surfing area ­ The Point.

All of Roccos rooms have comfortable spring mattresses, fans, mosquito nets and en-suite bathrooms. Each room is comfortable, clean and beautifully situated ­ whether they are our beach rooms or the garden ones. Each has a verandah providing a private place to sit and enjoy the environment. Our rates vary according to time of year ­ but are typically between $20 and $55 a night.
